Broken Threads, Stronger Tapestry
In the quiet shadows of our shared past,
You wore a mask, but the truth could not last.
The moment your words turned sharp as a knife,
You fractured the bond that should cherish life.
Abuse wrapped tight like a suffocating chain,
Your heart once a home, now a source of pain.
The echoes of gaslight, the whispers of dread,
You wove a narrative where love became dead.
A father unfit, lost in your lies,
You taught me to question, you taught me to cry.
Yet from those ashes, I learned to reclaim,
The power within me, the strength in my name.
As a mother, I rose from the depths of despair,
With love as my armour, I learned to repair.
Each moment I nurture, each laugh that I share,
Is a testament to love, to the strength that I bear.
You failed me in ways that cut to the core,
But your darkness ignited a fire to soar.
For every scar etched deep into my soul,
I’ve crafted a story, a journey made whole.
You may have unravelled, but I weave anew,
A tapestry rich with colours so true.
With threads of resilience, compassion, and grace,
I build a foundation, a sacred space.
So here’s to the lessons, the strength that I found,
In the wreckage you left, I stand on solid ground.
A mother, a warrior, unbreakable, free,
In this dance of my life, I choose to be me.

Awakening
Oh, are you angry because I see through your guise?
No longer the puppet, no longer your prize.
Your mind games and lies, your gaslighting spree,
I'm done with the shadows; I'm finally free.
Not hurt for my faults, nor my silence and doubt,
But wounded, it seems, because I've called you out.
You thrived on my confusion, my fears at your door,
But I've taken my power; I won't play anymore.
I gave you my chances, I let you control,
Excused every insult that chipped at my soul.
I kept peace at the cost of my own inner calm,
But that quiet version of me? She's now a new dawn.
You fed on my empathy, nurtured my pain,
But now that I'm rising, you're grasping in vain.
Your chaos is crumbling, your web is undone,
Without all your power, you've nowhere to run.
So hear me, dear shadow, this is my decree:
If you don't like the truth, go and set yourself free.
Stop blaming my healing for breaking your scheme,
I choose the light over your dark, twisted dream.
I owe you no silence, no guilt, nor regret,
My voice is my strength; my boundaries are set.
I walk toward my peace, where my spirit will soar,
And I choose my own path—this is my encore.
